How to Write Vinted Titles That Buyers Can Find

Use one repeatable title formula

Brand + specific item type + colour + size + defining detail

This order starts with the information that identifies the item and leaves the final words for a feature that helps distinguish it. A defining detail could be the material, fit, pattern or product line. Only include a detail when you can verify it from the garment or label.

Choose the item type buyers actually use

“Top”, “shoes” and “jacket” are often too broad. Prefer a precise, familiar term such as polo shirt, zip hoodie, straight-leg jeans, trench coat or running trainers. Check the garment construction and its care label rather than guessing. If two terms are common in your market, use the clearest one in the title and place the alternative naturally in the description.

Do not add unrelated product types to catch more searches. A sweatshirt described as a hoodie will disappoint buyers when it has no hood, and inaccurate wording makes the listing harder to trust.

Write colour and size exactly

Use the dominant colour a buyer will see in the first photo. Add a second colour only when it is a visible part of the design, such as “white and black”. Avoid creative colour names unless the brand uses a documented shade name that matters to the product.

Copy the size from the label and keep the format readable: size M, EU 40 or W30 L32. If the fit differs from the label, explain that in the description with measurements. Do not change the labelled size in the title to match an estimate.

If the label has no recognisable brand, begin with the strongest factual identifier: era or style when known, item type, material, colour and size. “Corduroy overshirt brown size M unisex” is more useful than “no-brand jacket”. Never assign a brand because the design looks similar.

Treat “vintage” as a factual claim, not decoration. If you cannot establish the age, describe the visible style instead, such as “90s-style”, and explain what you know in the description.

What belongs in the description instead

Keep measurements, fabric feel, care information, flaws and the reason for selling in the description. This gives buyers the detail they need without turning the title into a sentence. State wear honestly and photograph any mark or damage. A precise title earns the click; a complete description helps the buyer decide.
